Los Angeles psychologist Dr. Geoffry White has enjoyed being a psychologist in West Los Angeles for over 20 years, working primarily with individual adults as well as couples who want to improve their relationship.
He has been trained in the major approaches to psychotherapy and strives to flexibly combine them in his practice.
Dr. White grew up in Los Angeles, went to UCLA for his undergraduate work and then attended the University of Oregon for his doctorate in psychology. He spent a year at SUNY Stonry Brook in New York for a postdoctoral fellowship. Since then Dr. White has been Professor of Psychology (California State University, Fullerton, 1975-85), and Clinical Faculty at UCLA and UC Irvine MedicalCenters. Over this entire time, he has been a licensed psychologist in California.
To fulfill his desire and commitment to "giving psychology away" to the community, Dr. White devotes significant volunteer time and energy to a variety of humanitarian activities. Over the years these have included: rapid response for survivors of earthquakes and tsunamis in Los Angeles and Sri Lanka; war and genocide in Bosnia and Croatia; terrorism in the September 11 attack on New York, and; developing a comprehensive health care system for all residents of California.
